Carmine Giovanizzo – Carmine Giovanizzo the 39 year old actor who is best known for his role as Detective Danny Messer on CSI – NY was arrested in January this year for DUI. The police in Scottsdale, AZ stopped him when they saw him swerving all over all the road. The incident occurred around 2:40 a.m. on Monday January 21. Giovanizzo was driving a white Jeep Wrangler and had two passengers. He exhibited signs of intoxication when he was stopped by the police – bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and stank of alcohol. He admitted having consumed alcohol at a hotel before driving. His blood alcohol concentration was 0.149 percent which is nearly twice the legal limit of 0.08 percent. In March 2013, he entered a guilty plea and was ordered to complete an alcohol training program by May 3.
Al Michaels – Al Michaels is a well-known sportscaster who worked with ABC Sports until 2006. He is currently working for NBC Sports. Al Michaels was arrested on suspicion of DUI by the Santa Monica Police Department when officers manning a sobriety checkpoint saw a car make an illegal U-turn. The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. on April 19. The officers asked the driver to pull over. Officers noticed signs of intoxication and asked Michaels to take the field sobriety tests. They later took him to the station and asked him to undergo the breathanalyzer test. His blood alcohol concentration was 0.08 percent. He was kept at the Santa Monica City Jail for about five hours and subsequently released on his own recognizance. Michaels’ case will come up on June 26 at the Los Angeles Municipal Court when the charges are likely to be read out to him.
Amanda Lee Adams – Amanda Lee Adams, the 26 year old who featured in the reality TV show “Myrtle Manor” was arrested for DUI in Myrtle Beach, SC. The incident happened on Friday, April 26. She was arrested around 4:30 a.m and taken to the Myrtle Beach jail. She was driving a black Jeep Wrangler and crashed into an electric pole. Her vehicle suffered front end damage and the electric pole was knocked down. She was arrested from the scene of the crash and taken to the police station where she was asked to perform the breathanalyzer test. Her blood alcohol concentration was 0.2 percent. The video of her DUI arrest has gone viral on the net.
Kevin Hart – Kevin Hart, the well-known comedian was arrested on Sunday, April 14 for DUI. The California Highway Patrol officers noticed the 32-year-old driving erratically at 90 miles per hour on the 101 freeway in Los Angeles around 4:30 a.m. He almost collided with a gas tanker. He showed signs in intoxication and failed the field sobriety tests. He was taken to the station and charged with misdemeanor DUI and held on a $5000 bond.
Thomas Gibson – Thomas Gibson, the well-known star of Criminal Minds, an American police procedural television program was arrested on January 6 for DUI. He was arrested after he attempted to drive his Audi SUV through a part of Downtown L.A. that was sectioned off for a half-marathon. He declined to take the breath analyzer test. He was arrested on suspicion of DUI and released the next day after he paid a $15,000 bail. He subsequently struck a plea deal with the prosecutors. He pleaded no contest to alcohol-related reckless driving and the prosecutors dropped the DUI charges.
